The Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX) was pleased to welcome a delegation of students from Koforidua Technical University, located in the Eastern Region of Ghana, on Tuesday, August 25, 2023. During the visit, Mrs. Wendy Malm, Head of Trading, Central Depository, and Surveillance, delivered an insightful presentation elucidating the intricate operations of GCX. The students were acquainted with the diverse range of commodities traded on the exchange and were provided with an in-depth overview of the trading procedures on the GCX trading platform.

The interactive session not only facilitated a exchange of ideas but also highlighted GCX's pivotal role in revolutionizing Ghana's agricultural sector and its wider influence. The students gained  insights into what commodity trading is and, equally importantly, the socio-economic transformations such platforms can birth within local communities.

He further advocated for a continued partnership, suggesting that the study visits become a recurring feature, especially in light of Koforidua Technical University's recent accreditation to offer degree programs in accounting.

The visit to GCX left the students with enriched perspectives and insights that extend beyond the confines of the classroom. It stands as a testament to GCX's commitment to nurturing educational growth, fostering industry relationships, and contributing to the sustainable development of Ghana's agricultural sector.
